In the current study we sought to describe the prevalence and characteristics of PTH in the first five years after TBI, to compare those who report PTH with those who do not, and to examine possible risk factors for the development of PTH. Individuals with mostly moderate-to-severe TBI were prospectively enrolled in conjunction with the larger TBI Model System study. Participants were enrolled from the acute inpatient rehabilitation units of seven TBI Model System centers.
