Abstract:
Article with suggestions for family, friends, and caregivers of persons with traumatic brain injury (TBI) on ways they can help increase the likelihood of employment success as their family member with TBI returns to work. These include: recognize that brain injury happens to the whole family; consider that brain injury is often long-term; don't assume that participation in brain injury rehabilitation means the individual is set for life; recognize how to extend the natural recovery process; and avoid giving your injured family member contradictory advice, while working to reduce the effects of conflicting or differing advice.
