Abstract:
Study comparing quality of life (QOL) of individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) living in nursing homes versus those living in the community. Participants were 37 nursing home residents and 37 community residents matched demographically and by injury characteristics. Results from measures including the Satisfaction With Life Scale and the Craig Handicap Assessment and Reporting Technique (CHART) indicate that the nursing home residents demonstrated significantly lower QOL across multiple domains compared to their community-dwelling counterparts.
