Dr. Tate is a Professor and Associate Chair for Research in the UM Department of PM&R. She has served as the PI of the UM-SCIMS since 1995 and as Co-Investigator from 1986 - 1995. Her research focuses on SCI adjustment, depression, community participation and QOL outcomes. Her bibliography includes more than 145 peer-reviewed publications, numerous grants and service on editorial boards and study sections for NIH, NIDRR, CDC, VA and SSA. Her personal commitment to improving the lives of persons with SCI through empowerment and by facilitating community re-integration has been the focus of many of her national and international lectures.
