Abstract:

Study examining the influence of semantic information on word-stem priming in a nonclinical sample. Stimuli consisted of threatening and non-threatening words presented in computerized word-stem priming and cued recall tasks. The authors hypothesized that word-type effects and thus the processing of semantic information would be evident in word-stem priming. To test whether mood state affects memory, the study also included measures of depression and anxiety. Participants were 41 undergraduate women recruited from an introductory psychology class.
