Abstract:

Investigates the predictive power of the revised trauma score (RTS) instead of the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) in determining disability as measured by the Disability Rating Scale (DRS). Findings indicate that the RTS may be an important evaluation for determining mortality in emergency triage of traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients, but is of limited use in predicting disability outcomes.
