Abstract:
An exploratory and discovery stage of research, this study looks to assess TBI-induced increases in autonomic dysregulation, metabolic dysfunction, and hyper-inflammation that are associated with earlier time post-injury and reduced cognitive and executive functioning, emotional regulation, and community participation. The study aims to characterize longitudinal changes in physiological markers that may foreshadow later decline, and evaluate relationships with cognitive and psychosocial functioning.
