Fun Facts

Teaching is Trinidad’s passion. She loves helping her students learn by developing innovative lesson plans and projects that synergize with clinical cases and real-world learning environments. She developed a love for helping people throughout her time as a physical therapist before she entered academia. When Trinidad is not helping her students or involved in research tasks, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, and listening to music.

Trinidad's Journey with SCI

Trinidad began her career as a physical therapist and spent her time studying stroke and aging. Throughout her experience, she discovered how significant common health conditions are concerning people with SCI. Trinidad is now an associate professor at the University of Valencia in Valencia, Spain, specializing in physiotherapy. She educates her students on SCI and encourages them to help people with SCI directly through physical therapy.

Why does Trinidad want to be an MSKTC ambassador?

Trinidad wants to become an ambassador to expand the resources available for people with SCI in Spain. Being an ambassador for MSKTC, she can more easily access and disseminate resources to her students who then go on to help SCI patients improve functional ability and quality of life.

What has Trinidad done as an ambassador?

Trinidad has shared links to MSKTC resources with students in her classes, which has helped students improve their understanding of SCI patient-related issues. Now that she is preparing lessons for next year, Trinidad is integrating several of MSKTC’s resources into the lesson plans. Trinidad also wants to incorporate MSKTC resources directly into the topics and materials in her future lesson plans. In addition, she is working with fellow faculty to brainstorm ways to build relationships with SCI associations local to her in Spain, hoping to help as many people with SCI as possible.
