Nicole S. Gibran, MD, is the Medical Director of the UW Medicine Regional Burn Center and professor in the UW Department of Surgery. She has been involved with the University of Washington Burn Injury Model System/Northwest Regional Burn Model System since 1997. Dr. Gibran has worked as an Attending Surgeon at the Burn Center since 1990.

Dr. Gibran’s research interests are in the areas of wound healing, response to injury, long-term functional and psychological outcomes, burn registries, and scarring. She is also passionate about development of quality metrics to validate and improve care of the burn patient - locally regionally, nationally and internationally.
