Cindy Ivanhoe. M.D. is a Board-certified physiatrist, a Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UTHealth McGovern Medical School, and an attending physician on the TIRR Memorial Hermann Brain Injury Unit. She previously served as Director of the Brain Injury and Stroke Program. Dr. Ivanhoe has a national and international reputation in TBI rehabilitation, receiving numerous national awards, including the Brain Injury Association of America’s Sheldon Berrol Clinical Service Award, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation’s Distinguished Clinician Award, and the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine’s Elizabeth and Sidney Licht Award, as well as numerous local teaching and clinical awards. She was Co-Investigator on prior TIRR Model System grants and on a Rehabilitation Research and Training Center grant. She has co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and 13 book chapters. She is a frequently invited national and international speaker on topics such as spasticity management and ethical dilemmas in brain injury care.
