Dr. Taylor is the Director of Spinal Cord Injury and Disability Research (SCIDR) at TIRR Memorial Hermann, and Associate Professor in the Department of PM&R at UTHealth. Dr. Taylor holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston. A strong leader in the field of SCI, Dr. Taylor is the Founder and Chair of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine’s SCI Interdisciplinary Special Interest Group Women’s Health Task Force. She has served as PI or Co-Investigator on over 30 federally funded grants. Dr. Taylor focuses her research on health, motor recovery, motor learning, and psychosocial functioning with a strong emphasis on women and children with SCI. She is widely published and presents nationally and internationally on research in the context of SCI.
