Abstract:

Article briefly reviews some studies that have used the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDSMR) to develop a better understanding of burn rehabilitation outcomes. The UDSMR maintains the largest inpatient rehabilitation database in the world, which includes information on approximately 80 percent of all inpatient rehabilitation facilities nationally. Despite some limitations, there is much value to the UDSMR data set for burn rehabilitation research.
